Overview

UTM is a part of the Cell IPPE generic platform. It is our next-generation of network security technology which is designed into Cell network security products. It combines unique network processor & ASIC design with Cell CRiOS and Cell IPPE. The network processor supports fast performance up to 4Gbps, deep packet inspection engine, multiple packet matching and high compression ratio for inspection code. It is designed to offload computing intensive operation from CPU and to deliver high content inspection performance in hardware appliance.

UTM has a complete of network security protection and applications:
- Anti-Virus (AV) Protection – AV signatures cover the most popular malwares, such as viruses, worms, Trojans, backdoors, and the prevalent password stealers etc.
- Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) - IDP signatures cover the most popular intrusion attacks, spyware or attacks by hackers through unknown vulnerabilities against software operating systems or other applications.
- Application Management – it covers the well-known network applications such as Instant Messaging (IM), Peer to Peer (P2P) applications. It provides policy control and management.
- Web Content Filtering – it covers a concise malicious URL and its protocol filtering to prevent Web drive-by-download.
UTM provides a network security product portfolio with ASIC chip, innovative software, and on-line signature services directly from our Cell's Security Service Centre (SSC) as an "all-in-one" security solution to our customer for their network and information protection.
